What we use
Information needed to run AOE Scout
Account and sign-in details
When you sign in with Google, Steam, or Microsoft/Xbox, we receive the account identifier and basic profile details provided by that provider. We use them to keep your AOE Scout profile and saved game connections available.
Public game and match data
We display public player names, profile IDs, country or flag information, ratings, civilizations, match history, and related statistics from supported game data services. This information is used to build rankings, profiles, comparisons, and scouting views.
Settings and technical data
We store settings you choose, such as linked game profiles and scouting preferences. The website may also receive normal server logs such as IP address, browser type, request time, and error details for security and reliability.
Optional Windows program
How Pro Scouting connects
Pro Scouting can use a small companion program installed on your Windows computer. The companion connects to the AOE Scout website through a local connection on your own device. It is not a remote-control service and does not require the game to be focused to receive a user-requested keyboard or mouse action.
The website provides player and opponent information from public game-data services. The local companion enables features such as Auto Q and other shortcuts by generating the selected keyboard or mouse input locally after you explicitly start the feature.
The companion may read the local status needed to report whether it is connected and ready. Raw keyboard and mouse input is not uploaded to AOE Scout as an activity stream. You can stop the feature at any time and remove the companion from Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps.
Cookies, analytics, and service providers
AOE Scout uses essential session cookies for sign-in and account continuity. We may use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage and improve the service. Authentication, hosting, analytics, support, and public game-data providers process information only as needed to provide their respective services and under their own privacy policies.
Your choices and contact
You may sign out, stop using Pro Scouting, unlink saved profiles, or uninstall the Windows companion. To request account or privacy help, contact us through the AOE Scout contact page. We may update this policy when the service or its data practices change.
